Skype is an excellent aptiicaplon and can be used in a variety of ways. It is easy to use and free which makes is easily accessible to both teachers and students. I have personally used Skype and have only great things to say. First, it is free, easy, and quick to download. There are only a few buttons and the whole process is pretty self-explanatory. I use Skype almost every day to communicate with my family who lives in Illinois and my friends who go to college all over the US. It allows the user to have face to face communication with the person on the other end. Skype is a great tool to be used in the classroom. Before it was popular, my freshman year Algebra teacher used Skype and had students that were absent for the day call him on Skype during the class period. That way, the student could sit, watch, and hear the lesson as if they were sitting in the class. This is a very innovative way to use it in the classroom. Also, once this aptiicaplon develops more and allows more people to chat at once, teachers could set up online discussions. With Skype, the discussions can be done face to face over the camera which more closely resembles classroom discussions. Doing them this way also allows the students to interact with each other more than with simply tying their responses in a forum. There are so many ways for Skype to be used in the classroom the opportunities are endless!
